Windword Writing and Graphics,
est. 1996, in
Carol Johnstone, Windword’s owner and operator, has more than 25 years experience writing and editing material from technical analyses on mining topics, to newspaper and magazine articles on business, art, the disabled, visible minorities, personality and business profiles, science, news events, columns, and memoir. She’s also written for business and edited newsletters, brochures, and conference handbooks. She’s been a member of the Canadian Association of Journalists The Periodical Writers of Canada, CARFAC (a graphics organization), and the Writer’s Federation of Nova Scotia for many years.
Art
Ms. Johnstone has been painting and drawing ever since she could hold a crayon. Her first prize was in grade one for a drawing of "A bride and her horse." She has exhibited some of her work in San Francisco and at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Sales and Rental Gallery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where you can see some of her photographs on display. She has also exhibited her work at several trade shows and exhibitions locally.
Graphics
She has 30 years experience in design and layout beginning on a light table and moving to Adobe PhotoShop, and Creative Suite 2 using original art, photography, and calligraphy -- black and white or colour.
